The wax sterilizer is a crucial tool for ensuring the production of safe and healthy wax sheets, particularly in the prevention of American foulbrood. Made entirely of stainless steel, this professional sterilizer features a cylindrical container with three concentric walls.
To achieve the necessary sterilization temperature of over 120 °C, diathermic oil is heated by electric resistances located between the first and second walls. These resistances have a power absorption of 3000 watts. Prior to wax sterilization, it is important to ensure that all the wax is completely melted by setting the thermostat of the electric resistance to around 80 °C.
Once the wax is fully melted, the thermostat can be raised to 120 °C, maintaining this temperature for 30 minutes to achieve sterilization. Afterward, the thermostat can be adjusted to 75 °C for subsequent processing.
To prevent heat dispersion, a special insulating material is placed between the second and third walls. The conical internal bottom features a large tap for complete wax discharge at the end of the process, while a separate clear wax outlet tap is positioned on the raised vertical wall.
